Postdoctoral opportunity: Cross-site study of nutrient fluxes from Experimental Forest watersheds

We have funding for a postdoctoral researcher to evaluate long-term stream chemistry and stream flow data from US Forest Service Experimental Forest and Range (EFR) research watersheds across the country.

The postdoc will help to develop ideas, conduct analyses, and collaborate on manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific literature using long-term nutrient data from these forested watersheds. Nutrient responses include seasonal and long term trends at reference sites as well as before and after natural disturbances and land use treatments. He or she will be responsible for communicating with and coordinating among researchers on a team that includes Forest Service and University scientists, NGO collaborators and a database manager.

Specific skills needed to complete the research tasks include an understanding of biogeochemical and hydrological processes, expertise in analysis and evaluation of large hydrochemical data sets, and good written and oral communication skills.
